The Garden State Employment and Training Association (GSETA) Recognizes Crestron for Outstanding Service to New Jersey’s Workforce Development Community

Rockleigh, NJ, October 12, 2010 – Crestron recently received the Corporate Partnership Award from the Garden State Employment and Training Association (GSETA). Every year, the GSETA Corporate Partnership Award recognizes an employer within the state of New Jersey that has demonstrated a positive impact on the workforce through economic and workforce development. Qualifications for nomination include increasing local and/or state workforce development, and a sustained commitment to working with local Workforce Investment Boards to initiate leadership and direction in current and/or future workforce growth.

Crestron was chosen to receive the Corporate Partnership Award due to its commitment, leadership and financial support of the local workforce development system through the creation of innovative programs. Crestron draws on its experience as an industry leader to shape career paths in advanced manufacturing, working with The Bergen One-Stop On-the-Job Training program. As a Bergen Workforce Investment Board (WIB) member and serving on the WIB’s RFP review team, Crestron Senior Director of Human Resources Martin Devaney advises the WIB on maximizing growth in advanced manufacturing and other demand occupations. Additionally, Crestron uses New Jersey customized training to train incumbent workers and new hires in state-of-the-art manufacturing.

“The workforce and economic development efforts of Crestron during the severe recession were critical in helping Northern New Jersey through difficult economic conditions,” observed Tammy Molinelli, Executive Director, Bergen County WIB.

Devaney accepted the award on behalf of the company and its 1,400 U.S. employees. “The efforts and dedication of our staff to the development of cutting edge technology has contributed to Crestron’s continuous growth and need for exceptional talent,” Devaney added. “Last year, we hired 26 One-Stop customers due to our partnership with various New Jersey community WIBs and One Stop Centers.”

The ceremony was held at the 28th annual GSETA Workforce Development Conference held on September 22 and 23, 2010 in Atlantic City, NJ. The conference was attended by dignitaries from the GSETA; NJ Department of Labor & Workforce Development; United States Department of Labor, and a number of county Workforce Investment Boards.
