Seoul, Korea - Nov 30, 2011 : Polycom, Inc., (NASDAQ: PLCM) the global leader in standards-based unified communications (UC), today announced that it has established a new solution center in Seoul, Korea. The center will provide customers in Korea the opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits of face-to-face collaboration across the full range of Polycom's industry-leading UC solutions, from the Polycom RealPresence Platform to HD video and HD Voice™ solutions for mobile tablets, offices/desktops, meeting rooms, and immersive telepresence.
Polycom's revenue in Asia Pacific grew 41% year-over-year during the third quarter of 2011. The new solution center further expands Polycom's presence in Korea, and is the newest addition to Polycom's network of solution centers around the world, which continues to expand with recent openings in Sydney, Hong Kong, India, and Russia.
The solution center comprises four "themed room" enabling visitors to experience the full range of Polycom's productivity-enhancing UC solutions, including:
- UC Innovations Zone: Users can link to Polycom Open Collaboration Network™ partners' solutions via Polycom's video and voice collaboration solutions. Users can also experience Polycom® RealPresence™ Mobile, the first enterprise HD video software solution for Apple, Motorola Mobility, and Samsung tablets, extending Polycom's HD video collaboration technology beyond the office and conference room to deliver to tablets the same high-quality, secure, reliable video experience customers are accustomed to inside the office.
- Executive Office: This space replicates an executive office or a small meeting room so users can experience Polycom RealPresence Room solutions, including the all-in-one executive desktop telepresence solution, Polycom® RealPresence HDX® 4500, and the Polycom® RealPresence HDX® 7000, a solution for an executive office or small meeting room.
- Telepresence Room: Users can test-drive the lifelike and immersive collaborative experience delivered by Polycom® RealPresence™ Immersive solutions, including the Polycom® Open Telepresence Experience™ (OTX™) 300.
- Large Meeting Room: Users can see and hear for themselves the difference in the quality of the collaboration experience provided by the Polycom RealPresence HDX® 8000 room solution and Polycom RealPresence camera innovations including the Polycom® EagleEye Director – a camera that automatically locates and focuses on active speakers through Polycom's simultaneous voice triangulation and face-finding software technology.
In addition, the solution center will showcase the power of the Polycom® RealPresence™ Platform – the most comprehensive software infrastructure for universal video collaboration, interoperating with the broadest range of business, mobile, and social applications and devices.
