Michael Baker Joins Vaddio Team Vaddio has retained videoconferencing-alum, Michael Baker, for strategic vertical market development. Due to Vaddio’s rapid growth in the healthcare, education and corporate training industries, Baker’s new role will help identify market needs specific to these specialized markets. “I’m very excited about joining the team at Vaddio,” explained Baker. “Their products are perfectly positioned for the Education, Healthcare and Training industries. Vaddio’s new “Squiggle” and their AutoTrak System are desperately needed products for classrooms, training rooms, courtrooms and medical education. I’m looking forward to returning to the camera tracking business and helping educators and trainers globally make their classrooms a more productive environment.” With more than 30 years experience in video technologies, Baker has worked for some of the most important companies in the industry including Sony, Panasonic, ParkerVision, VBrick Systems and Polycom. Baker headed the sales efforts for education markets while at Panasonic and worked for Sony Corporation of America as a Government Marketing Manager for the Southwest region. While at ParkerVision, Baker served as the Director of International Sales for CameraMan tracking systems. As Vice President for Business Development at VBrick Systems, Baker created, developed and managed expansion and business relationships in the education and healthcare markets in North America. Prior to joining VBrick Systems, he served as Worldwide Vice President of Vertical Markets for Polycom. Most recently Baker headed North American Sales for “inPerson” videoconferencing solutions at Creative Labs, Inc. Baker is Chair Emeritus and a Board Member of the United States Distance Learning Association and a member of the Board of Industry Advisors for the American Telemedicine Association. In addition, he is a member of the Congressional Internet Caucus, the Association of Colleges and University Telecommunications Administrators and the National Association of State Technical Directors. Baker has also been inducted into the Teleconferencing Hall of Fame and the United States Distance Learning Association Hall of Fame.
