BTX Technologies Now Offers Plenum HDMI and Plenum DVI Assemblies

BTX Technologies, a global value-added distributor and manufacturer of interface and integration products, today announced that the company is now offering plenum HDMI and plenum DVI assemblies in lengths of 25, 33, 40, and 49 feet.

For schools, hospitals, and government buildings, the plenum space above drop ceilings and under raised floors is the optimal place for routing communication and A/V cables. However, in order to use these plenum spaces, installers need to utilize special cables designed to prevent the spread of fire. For the routing of HDMI and DVI signals through plenum spaces, the only option has been to use a Cat5 transmitter at one end, a Cat5 receiver at the other end, and plenum Cat5 cable in between. The new plenum assemblies from BTX provide a convenient alternative.

“We are excited to offer installers these new plenum HDMI and plenum DVI assemblies,” stated Mark Chernoff, director of marketing and strategic sales at BTX Technologies. “Cat5 extenders are great, but routing power to them is sometimes a challenge. Our new assemblies allow installers to run a plenum HDMI or plenum DVI signal up to 49 feet without having to worry about powering a device.”

Each assembly features 24AWG oxygen-free, pure copper conductors; triple shielding that rejects EMI and RFI interference; and gold-plated connectors. The CMP-certified jacket and Teflon® inner insulators provide the fire protection needed to run the cables in the walls or air plenums without a conduit.

The BTX HDMI and DVI assemblies are currently available to dealers nationwide.
