This 100-person capacity lecture hall at a corporate training facility was in desperate need of a technology overhaul. Sitting in a time warp of 20 years ago with limited technology, this space was on the brink of being unusable for the learners of today. Technology solutions provider, InfoCor, stepped in to give a much-needed audiovisual overhaul. With the upgrade, users now have access to immersive technologies in a learning environment that is connected to the digital community.

Read below to get a glimpse of the transformation process.

BEFORE:

One electric drop-down screen with a projector was used to show a wired laptop connection or DVD player. Audience participation was restricted to analog microphones that could only be unmuted from the lectern control touch panel. Wireless presenter microphones were operating in the 700MHz band that the FCC does not permit. Remote participation was achieved via a Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) line. And lastly, users experienced sound quality issues abound.

AFTER:

InfoCor replaced the existing projector and electric drop-down screen with a Planar URX100 100” UHD LED display in the center of the front wall and two Samsung QH65R 65” UHD displays mounted on each side of the main display. Also, a Samsung QE43T 43” UHD display was installed in the front row as a confidence monitor for a presenter. The new display configurations give a much-improved visual performance from the previous setup. Furthermore, two additional video inputs were added to the lecture hall, a Barco Clickshare C-10 and a Vaddio in-ceiling document camera, giving a presenter more versatility with their devices.

A Crestron Flex UC video conference system for Microsoft Teams was added to the room system with content sharing capabilities as well as views from three Vaddio HD cameras. One camera is dedicated for the presenter at the lectern and can be stationary or moved using PTZ controls. The audience shots are achieved via two front cameras which are fully automated to show the participant who unmuted their microphone. Seamless camera switching of participants and versatile content sharing abilities via a Teams environment delivers an exceptional collaboration user experience.

Lastly, the update to this space included a major upgrade of audio components. InfoCor replaced the existing audio DSP system with a new Biamp Tesira Server I/O interfacing to Dante endpoints, Clock Audio gooseneck microphones, and a Shure digital wireless microphone system. Participants are now able to control the mute status of their microphone while gaining audio performance with these gooseneck style mics. The customer no longer deals with poor audio quality and the frustration of equipment failure, instead enjoys clear lifelike sound.
